Today I got a chance to explore this lovely old building. I love old shophouses in Singapore, therefore I was thrilled to be allowed to scrutinize up close how this building has been transformed to an contemporary art centre. It also brought back some lovely memories of my childhood visiting the area...

I love that everyone was smiling after a 2hour long session of intense sewing! "I have never done anything like this before... It was surprisingly therapeutic!" said Joti who was helping to facilitate today's leaf accessory workshop. That was one of the best compliments and it reminded me why I enjoy crafting so much.

10th Jan 2014 - Handmade gifts for friends
Pam came down from Bangkok for MAAD so I rushed down to present her with a few of our handmade items and I even wrote out a little booklet of things to do in Singapore for her stay here! Then, it was a long-overdued birthday celebration for Claire at a Thai restaurant with Ailin, I presented her a furoshiki-wrapped gift and we chatted about a possible Korea trip just the 3 of us.

I love the Gado-Gado from Mawar Merah near home, and since the last time we ordered a lot for potluck at Betty's, the stall couple has been over-generous with the serving size! She smiles as she greets us with "How are you?".
