Baa Baa Black Sheep

I went to the Small Sculptures exhibition and was intrigued by a simple work of three ceramic pots. i was drawn to its title "3 Bags Full" and knew immediately that i wanted to do a poofy badge on the nursery rhyme "baa baa black sheep". so here is the illustration i did of the sheep!

sometimes, doesn't it feel like we are all sheep following the crowd blindly? where are we going? are sheep reared just for the sake of wool?

paper lantern

While having breakfast, i gazed up at the colourful lanterns adorning the canteen... i used to love the battery-operated lanterns complete with music in cute cartoon character forms, but as i grow up the traditional paper lanterns with candles seem to attract me more due to their old charm.. :)

flight!

MAAD is celebrating its 3rd birthday this weekend with all things flight-related. we see paper areoplanes zooming (and crashing) in all directions and the place is decked in clouds to give that airy-floating feeling. i love the moblies made of paper areoplanes like this one too!



i also designed my sketchbook cover to the theme of my houses of the tiny village. :O

July Momshoo Update :)

went for a skecthing trip on the east-west line MRT yesterday. since the commuters don't pose and stay still, i gave up half-way and took to sketching their shoes instead. i think there is a lot you can learn about a person from their shoes! plus it also gave me more value with capuring details. :)

Brownie

i finished reading "An Illustrated Life" and one of the artists loves to draw her dog at different postures. so i decided i should try drawing Brownie.. but she moved too much and stayed in quite the same positions most of the time. oh well.

Sail Ship Knocker

I got this Sail Ship knocker from Portobello Market in London after seeing almost every house in London with one of these! We have finally moved to our new place and this is one of the final touches added to complete the home! :)

Red Capsicum

This is one of Brownie's favourite vegetable.(besides Chinese Parsley). We never ate/bought this veg till we had her. haha! and, she only likes the red and yellow ones. mostly the red one.

this one didn't come out too right in terms of colour (the drawing i mean, not the actual capsicum)but i like how the shading turned out. :) I have been meaning to draw this for a long time now and only now finally got down to it! :))

The FLu outbreak has triggered the surgical mask buying-Frenzy. this has been sold out in so many pharmacies and many provision shops start bringing in stocks to cash-in on this sudden interest in Masks...
